The all-new 2024 Kawasaki Eliminator is an entry-level cruiser with a sporty character. It slots above smaller beginner bikes to be a motorcycle that both new and intermediate riders can enjoy. It’s powered by a liquid-cooled 451cc parallel-Twin derived from the Ninja 400 engine but with a longer stroke for added torque.

The Eliminator features a 28.9-inch seat height, a weight of only 386 lb (base model), and mid-mount footpegs, all important considerations for new riders looking for an easy-to-ride bike on which to practice the basics. It also has a slim fuel tank, all LED lighting, and a round LCD display with Bluetooth connectivity through Rideology the app.

Additional tech on the Eliminator includes a slip/assist clutch for lighter clutch feel, a positive neutral finder, and ABS on the ABS and SE versions.

The Eliminator comes in three version: base, ABS, and SE. The SE version includes a two-patterned seat, fork boots, a USB-C charging port, a headlight cowl, and the Candy Steel Furnace Orange/Ebony colorway. The base and ABS versions come in Pearl Robotic White and Pearl Storm Gray.

It’s been a few weeks since our test ride on the 2023 Honda SCL500, and we still have a smile on our face. The SCL500 doesn’t make much power (about 46 hp at the rear wheel) and it doesn’t have any fancy features, and that’s what we love about it. Like the ’60s-era Honda scramblers that inspired the SCL500, it’s a basic, cool-looking runabout that is ideal for cruising around town or taking short jaunts on backroads. Its simplicity is its virtue. Just pure, uncomplicated fun.

Now in its fourth generation since the FJ-09 debuted for 2015, the 2024 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ sport-tourer has been updated with an eye toward refinement and sophistication.

The ‘+’ added to the model name this year brings with it a host of upgrades: a new millimeter-wave radar that continuously measures distance to vehicles ahead and enables adaptive cruise control and a world-first radar-linked Unified Brake System, integrated ride modes, the next generation of the KYB Actimatic Damper System (KADS) electronic suspension, an updated quickshifter, a new 7-inch TFT display with simplified menus, new switchgear, and integration with the Yamaha MyLink and Garmin Motorize smartphone apps.

Rider’s Editor-in-Chief Greg Drevenstedt logged 1,400 miles for our road test and he had this to say: The Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ gets a big gold star for being a fantastic, well-rounded, well-sorted sport-tourer. Although its $16,499 MSRP is $1,500 above that of the previous model, the GT+ offers a level of technological sophistication that isn’t available on another motorcycle priced less than $25,000.

Watch the video below to see the Tracer 9 GT+ in action and read our full review.

We review the 2023 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR, featuring a liquid-cooled 399cc inline-Four with DOHC and 16 valves, at the Thunderhill Raceway Park in Northern California.

The ZX-4RR has the potential to reinvigorate the sportbike market, providing a gateway to high-level performance in a package that is both tamable and attainable. Its power naturally pales in comparison to a fire-breathing ZX-10R or even a ZX-6R, but the 124 mph shown on its speedometer at the end of Thunderhill Raceway’s front straight demonstrates its potential for speed.

Unfortunately, EPA noise regulations mean that the 4RRs coming to North America are restricted, most likely by way of the electronic throttle valves at high revs. Our 4RRs produce peak power around 11,500 rpm according to a dyno chart supplied by Graves Motorsports, just shy of 60 hp at the rear wheel. Upconverting that number to a rated-at-crankshaft figure translates to about 65 hp, at least 10 ponies down from its Euro spec.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the MV Agusta 750S, the Italian manufacturer’s first model to sport a red, white, and blue paint scheme as a nod to the U.S. market, MV Agusta has launched the limited-edition Dragster RR SCS America. Only 300 units will be built, and all are slated for North America – priced at $28,247 to honor the 247th anniversary of American independence.

Decked out with a stars-and-stripes logo on the tank, a mix of Ago Red and Mica America Blue paint with white accents, and “America Special Edition” stitched in white on the red seat, it’s one of the most patriotic-looking motorcycles we’ve ever seen. Each bike comes with a Special Parts Kit that includes a transparent clutch cover, a dedicated motorcycle cover, and a certificate of authenticity.

At the heart of the Dragster RR SCS is a liquid-cooled 798cc inline-Triple with a 13.3:1 compression ratio and DOHC with 4 valves per cylinder and DLC-coated tappets. It churns out a claimed 140 hp at 12,300 rpm and 64.2 lb-ft of torque at 10,250 rpm. The SCS in the model name stands for “Smart Clutch System” and refers to the bike’s hydraulically actuated SCS 3.0 Radius CX semi-automatic clutch, made in collaboration with Rekluse.

Unique features include a carbon fiber cover on the rear wheel, a trio of slash-cut exhaust tips finished in black, fold-away passenger footpegs, and folding bar-end mirrors. MV Agusta claims that 75% of the bike’s components are made in Italy, including the Marzocchi fork, Brembo brakes, and Pirelli tires.

We got a first ride on the America at a press launch in Los Angeles, and the bike has a thrilling engine, agile handling (thanks in part to a counter-rotating crankshaft that reduces gyroscopic effect), and useful and user-friendly electronic rider aids. We used the MV Ride app to create a customized ride mode and to record our trip. For more details, read our first ride review.

We review the updated and upgraded Triumph Street Triple 765 R and Street Triple 765 RS, which hit a sweet spot in the sporty motorcycle market. They’re comfortable enough for commuting and light-duty touring, cool enough to hold its head high at bike nights, and fast enough for scorching trackdays. With prices starting at $9,995 for the R, the Street Triple 765 offers undeniable value for a sporting naked streetbike.

We traveled to Jerez, Spain, where we spent two days flogging the Street Triple 765 R and Street Triple 765 RS on the street and track. From their torquey midrange and soulful wailing Triple to their chassis, components, tech, and styling, there’s a lot to love about this pair of middleweight streetfighters. Watch the video below to see the Street Triple R and RS in action and get our impressions. For more details, you can also read our First Ride Review.

Getting dirty on the new 2023 Suzuki V-Strom 800DE.

We review the all-new 2023 Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, an off-road-ready middleweight adventure bike that slots in between the V-Strom 650 and V-Strom 1050. Until the 800 came along, V-Stroms have had V-Twin engines (hence the “V-” in the name, but Suzuki now says it stands for “Versatile).

The V-Strom 800DE is powered by a new 776cc parallel-Twin that makes a claimed 83 hp at 8,500 rpm and 57.5 lb-ft of torque at 6,800 rpm. The same engine is also found in the new 2023 Suzuki GSX-8S naked bike.

It also features a 21-inch front wheel, spoked wheels (tubes are required), 8.7 inches of front/rear suspension travel, and 8.75 inches of ground clearance. The Suzuki Intelligent Ride System includes the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector with three throttle maps, traction control with three on-road settings and a “G” (gravel) off-road setting, ABS with multiple modes (it can also be turned off at the rear), and a quickshifter.

We traveled to Sardinia, Italy, for two days of on-road and off-road testing. Watch the video to see the V-Strom 800DE in action and get our impressions. You can also read our First Ride Review.
